You should be able to if your bumper to bumper is still in tact. I know Im the second owner of my 05 Evo and the stealership tried to pull the same crap with me, telling me Im not the first owner so they dont think they can honor the warranty. So I simply call Mitsubishis corporate, who are extremely nice, and they told me the bumper to bumper factory warranty transfers to the second owner. I recommend calling them.

good luck on the calipers. mitsu pulled the plug on that a while ago. at nearly $1000 a pop they arent replacing those anymore unless they stop working. i brought mine in last november with 34k and a few little spots starting to show and nothing. and mind you i'm an employee and still nothing. the reason they cover the wing for 5/60 is because it's treated the same as any other painted surface when it comes to perforation. obviously they wont warranty paint work caused by dings, chips, or scratches or anything. the calipers are only covered under 12/12 same with any wear item such and clutch, brakes, etc.

Interesting. I got 4 new calipers this past November no questions asked. I guess it just depends on the local rep.

the other big thing is dealers get tracked by the manufacturer and the lest warranty return dollars the better. meaning for example something like an engine replacement would definitely leave a mark because of not only parts cost but also labor costs. that can definitely play a factor in a location's willingness to replace items. also what kind of numbers they turn in terms of sales and service also plays a factor in what and how they can get away with
