I use Orange Blast cleaner/dgreaser.
Go to the powerwasher, spray wheels with blast, scrub quickly with wheel brush, then power wash off.
AFter doing this, the only thing needed is a light wipe with a rag, and they lok brand spankin new.

Griot's Wheel Cleaner -- Approved by BBS.....

If you care about your car, don't use the Pep-Boys availible cleaners such as Eagle One A-Z and Meguiar's. They have a HUGE amount of acid in them and can lead to paint failure on your wheels. I use them, but only when I detail cars around my neighborhood looking for that quick wash and wax. For your wheels, I would recommend the P21S gel indefinately. I've used it to great sucess. I also just purchased "Wheel Cleaner" from topoftheline.com and it is also very gentle.
BTW: If you are in a realy crunch to clean them up and have no time to get something and no money, use some of your pop...that's right, regular soda from a 2 liter bottle. It has so much acid in it that it can help melt away all that crap.

Yeah, I know that Griot's is pretty gentle and that is part of why I've always liked using it.
Mitchubishi, where do you get your P21S cleaner from..? If you could let me know, that'd be cool, and I will post back here if I find it locally in an auto store or whatever.

Unfortunately, P21S is only availble online, as with most high quality detailing products. www.properautocare.com is where I got mine....along with alot of stuff here.
I have found that no matter what spray you use you still end up having to wipe the wheels off. So i'm not sure that there really is any hands free cleaners. I have also found that if you have to scrub the wheels by hand you might as well use soap and water, it works as well as anything else. I guess if the finish on your wheels is damaged it might not work as well, but with mine you can pretty much just wipe them clean with a moist cloth.
As a suggestion, after you go to all the effort of washing your wheels, try some Zanio Z-8.
It does a fantastic job of reducing accumulation of brake dust and road junk, and when the stuff does accumulate (which it inevitably does) the wheels are alot easier to clean.

i just use one of those toilet bowl cleaners but with the really soft spongey top, takes not even a minute to clean a rim and i dont even care how dirty it gets. I just use reg water and wipe it off with the thing. brand new cleaner of course.
