wrapped my manifold and got a forge DV today

Same here, my megan was wrapped in the summer of 06 still running good. The reason why other ones crack because the manifold get soaked w/water when it rains. Put a half shield under your vent, it should be enough to cover the mani....I drill little holes so the hot air can still vent off but the water doesn't sip through. Painting it usually help since the weld usually crack first due to rust.

looks good. i've been thinking of wrapping my manifold. what width and length did you use? are you going to wrap your o2 housing and dp, also?

Keeps heat inside the mani, helps exhaust scavenge. Also helps with underhood heat. Basically the same concept as ceramic coating, just cheaper to DIY.

I used 1" 50 ft. I'm gonna do the O2 this week probly. There's enough to do both in the 50ft roll.

Megan manifolds crack without being wrapped. Wrapping a tubular manifold keeps all of the heat inside of the wrap which leads to more premature cracking.

The DV is backwards

yeah I flipped the DV the right way now. I haven't really driven it so I didn't even notice.
