Drink a redbull, it'll give you wings - then twist that **** off! Just put some muscle into it bro, mine twisted off after a good nudge!

I'm just worried about what Francis said regarding how to remove the shift knob.

He told me that I have to pick-off the plastic thing on top of the stock shift knob (the plastic that has gear numbers stuff on it) and use the allen/hex key to uninstall the shift knob.

 

No, it doesn't. I already looked on top of the shifter and there is nothing that the shift knob can bolt down onto. My advice is to use some cloth, then use a vice grip to gain traction and then twist away.

Yes but make sure you put some cloth (maybe an old tshirt) around the knob to protect it. Even if you take the plastic gearing sticker off, if there is a bolt it still needs to bolt down onto the shifter. But there is no place for that on the shifter when I took it out so that theory is incorrect. You can try it if you want but I think it'll just f* up your shift knob

 

Just twist it off counter clockwise. Its the easiest thing I have ever done. Do I have to make a DIY video on youtube for this?
