C-West Front Bumper question
Hey I recieved my C-West front bumper cover last night and after seeing it I began to second guess my self. It is made of PFRP, but I was woundering if any one has had any issues with rocks cracking the bumper or any issues you have seen for a daily driver. I just want to be sure I made the right choice before I put it on.
Thanks,
Brett
Thanks,
Brett
I've had mine on for the past year.
For starters, did you lower your car? My car is still stock and yet, every once in awhile, I scrape. I was supposed to have it coated with 3M, never did, I regret it because I do get have a couple of chips. If you are going to add the canards then do it now otherwise they paint over the guides and it sucks to later drill the holes. Oh, and just a reminder, you have to remove the front crash beam.
After a year of driving it, even during the past snow storms, I think it's held up pretty well. If I had to show the car again then most likely I would have to touch up the bumper. If I have to respray it I would go with the 3M and call it a day.
Good luck and enjoy the bumper.

Defiantly going to 3M it after its painted. Do you know anywhere around us that does it, and is reputable for doing it?
You might have to do a search on this forum. If not, I can ask a buddy of mine that had his stock front bumper coated. I think the place he used is located in NY. I also think it was a little bit on the pricey side.
VERY durable bumper mine held up for a long time (and its still in great condition after I sold it) I would definately say 3M that bad boy up...my car was lowered when I had the bumper on and surprisingly it didnt scrape any more than it had without the Zeal's
they hold up great till you hit something and then they spider and crack just like any other bumper made of same material...don't bother with the 3M as I just feel its a waste of money when its still going to crack if you hit something or bottom out bad and the 3M stuff isn't cheap...I had the bumper for a while but cracked it bad while autoxing when I smacked a cone...

Like I said before, the 3M coating is definitely not cheap. I'm on the Turnpike and Garden State Parkway every day so any protection will help, if I lived in NYC, and did a lot of city driving, and was forced to park on the streets then I don't think I would get a different bumper. Oh, and btw, I check my bumper for chips everyday, it becomes an obsession.

I got the IX rear too. Love it. You have to eliminate the rear crash beam as well
Less of a head ache and a nice mod.
If you're not planning to show your car then just get the rear. There are certain mods that I MUST have, even if I don't show my car. The CWEST front is one of those mods that I had to have, especially seeing it up close. Now, I got the rear bumper before I got my front bumper. But I got the rear simply because I ran over tire threads on the turnpike and the tire threads pulled off my rear bumper. The front bumper was a replacement because some !@#$% scraped my front bumper at a public parking in Newark and I also attended a few car shows.
I hope this helps.
