I did a search and all the threads are so old the pictures are no longer hosted, or the picture are just flat out not good enough. I don't mean to make this to specific but pics with swifts springs would help or anything in the same range as swift springs.

I'm worried about the overall diameter looking too small. 255/40 compared to 235/45 is a bit smaller, overall.

Any help?

 

255/40/17, the sidewall may be smaller but the tire is wider.it looks real beefy. also you wont have a problem with springs at all, im on megan tracks, and i rub just a hair in the fronts, none in the rear. hope this helps

Where are you rubbing with these? I'm about to get the same size very soon and i'm on Tein Flex's.

 

It looks good, since you're a little bit lowerer than me. That's why I wanted to see them with Swifts or something in the same lowering "range". I don't want the wheels overall diameter to look too small. The width sounds appealing, but I know they're slightly shorter.

wouldn't running wider tires on smaller diameter rim contribute to sidewall flex...effectively reducing cornering stability?

I personally run 255 on 17x9 rims on my track tire set.
