just a quick pic of 4hrs worth of polishing
You mean clear coat? That really all depends on what product, what speed the polisher was at, and how aggressive the pad was. Normally you only remove a micro amount of the clear coat, but without a paint depth gauge you can't really tell. If he didn't have many swirls than he probably didn't remove any clear coat and could have gotten away with a All-in-one polish (AIO) with no abrasives.
Thanks guys.
I work as a detailer so for the buffing I used a yellow (or black depending on what i can get) foam pad for the swirls and Ardex 4212 seal -b swirl remover from the local detail store, buffer speed was anywhere from 1300 to 1800 depending on what area i was on. What really got it looking good was the Autoglym products (english based company that deals with rolls royce). I didnt need to clay it as the buffing pad left it feeling like glass. I used super resin polish, after removing that I put on their extra gloss protection which u leave on for an hour. You just lightly wipe it on in straight lines with a soft cloth, and that was it as far as the paint work. Cleaned the engine, put some tire shine on and i just got a product from them that you can use safely on tint to clean the windows.

This is the only other one a took in color, the other came out in black and white. Wish i could find a decent background to take a few, my buddy has the same color blue in a japan right hand drive TT supra and I want to take some of them .

I find after a really good clean, it does not need much cleaning for a while after that, so its kind of worth it. Just a quick hose off and cali blade dry looks fine as the surface is so smooth its hard for much to really stick to it. I have a scratch on the trunk that needs wet sanding as the buffer just hides it for a bit but other than that when the day comes to sell it it hopefully it will still be looking the same. I sold my 99 GT and after cleaning it the same way since I had it it looked just as good, i guess never being driven in snow helps

like everyone said, after 4 hours of work to get the car looking that good, you better get more pictures (in color) before all that hard work goes to waste.
wow that is beautiful, every single time i wax or wash my car a bird sh*ts on it. Not a big deal if you just wash it off but seems like every time i do it, it happens. You walk out and there it is down the side of your car hit everything to. IDK how bird can get the sides but it does every time

the first time I clayed my car and waxed/plished it it got sh*t on with in the hour and it slid right off the hood like a egg in a frying pan, pretty funny.
I'll take a few more pics leter this week, with the warmer weather here now its gonna be love bug season here in Fl so i want to get as many coats of wax on the front end before they start destroying my bumper and hood
