How it's made: PeakBoost manifold vol.1
In this first installment of making a PeakBoost manifold, we'll show the differences in the finish qualities of the manifold materials. Over the last 6 years we have strived to produce the highest quality 100% handcrafted turbo manifold.
In this post we'll give a look at our 3step material preperation(polish
) and the other guys "wire wheel" look.
Our materials are delivered in 10,000pc qty's
:

as you can see, the elbows have a "white coating" and a somewhat rough finish when they arrive.
the 3 stages of preperation:

1-the white coating is removed leaving the rough texture left
2- the rough texture is smoothed leaving a hammered finish
3- the hammered finish is polished to an almost mirror finish. Ready to weld!

as you can see in this picture, not only is the competitors material a dull finish to begin with, the technique used to achieve this finish is just a bench grinder with a wire wheel. These wire wheels not only provide a "satin" finish at best, they also embed oils into the stainless steel. Besides fighting the oils in the welding process, they also tend to discolor the manifold very quickly.
