you may want to shave those Toyo's; went to do some heat cycling and was shocked at the lack of responsiveness at full tread.

4/32" or 3/32" -- I think that's what the spec Miata's are doing.

Yeah I am curious to see how they are full depth. I know the RA-1's are terribly slow at full depth. I didn't think many people were shaving the R888's.
I do run shaved and heat cycled RA-1's on my Spec Miata.

I didn't run them at full tread - not after how they felt when heating them.

I shaved them to 3/32" - Pretty good

I just got a set of R888s, but haven't run them yet. My understanding is that they get a lot faster after 2-3 heat cycles. Tread squirm can't be THAT bad with that tread pattern?

As far as 255 40 18s, those are going to be a challenging fit up front because of the diameter. Are you removing the wheel liners? Otherwise, I think that you are going to have a hard time getting anywhere near full lock, which is a pain for street tires.

My personal Tire choice is the BS Potenze RE960AS Pole Positions. INCREDIBLE grip, SUPER TREAD WEAR, and everything else is phenomenal on them
