wow dude you hit it on the head there with "to each thier own". so you like to keep your evo low key... good for you but you have no reason to question the other guys on their taste. truthfully i got my car with the wing if i had a choice i would have kept it wingless or maybe the GTC200 wing instead. there are many different tastes out there. i would prefer the wing if it's actaully being used like on a track or race car. all the wings shown here are of better quality and better looking than any pepboys APC wing i have ever seen. so go and enjoy driving your 5.0 without A/C on a hot day and maybe you can sell your evo so you can get the A/C fixed.

BTW i have seen plenty of RICED out mustangs as well. to each their own

Dude your definately the man....Have fun in your 5.0. WTF do you care how people mod there car's, If I wanted to be like you I'd make a comment like 5.0's are lame technologically unadvanced shoe boxes. But I digress, enjoy your car and try to remember...We're not all like you.....And thank goodness.

Say what you want about 5.0's...I really don't care...I am not brand loyal to a car company...I just like certain types of cars...and I happen to have two badass cars...maybe the fact that my 5.0 is a notchback and I like the simple clean look I tend to be one of those eVo owners that would consider taking the stock wing off...people in this thread are obviously ones that watched too many re-runs of the fast and the furious...and I thought it was only a California kinda thing... Anywho...my argument is...what do those huge wings do that a stock wing can't on a tarck...somebody educate me...To keep a downforce to the rear wheels you need to be going fast to even notice a difference...even vortex generators don't do much if anything at all...but they do look cool...

Sure....Your "aero testing" @ 150MPH on the highway indicates that common sense eludes you....Get a clue, I'm glad I was'nt on the high way while you were conducting this scientific testing. I'm glad you enjoy your car's, I do too...If I could ever finish it, My widebody big winged HTA 35R powered missle is cool to me.

If you want to do aero testing...Take it to the track, Or better yet rent a wind tunnel like Voltex does. Oh yeah...Voltex is the company that makes many of the big wings you see in this thread. Call them up and tell them their wind tunnel time is a waste....They can just get together with you and you guys can test it on the high way.

You're a damn fool to be flying 150 mph on the freeway. And actually there is a big benefit from the wing, just cause your sorry *** doesn't know much about track, doesn't mean bigger wing is not functional. I do over 20 track days a year, I have put more than 1000 miles track miles on my evo. Most of the tracks I hit well over 120 mph, and some turns are at 100 mph. At Mid-Ohio I'm doing 145 mph on the back straight, and over 120 mph on the front straight. After putting the wing I have noticed a significant difference in corner speed and track out speeds. So if I were you, I'd shut the hell up, and wouldn't be making anymore fool out of yourself. Go chat with your mustang buddies.

Nah man, was just giving you a hard time. I like it. I like how it has the evo looking side pieces.

Wow, you're a f'tard. Please PLEASE sell your evo so you can join the rest of the bitter domestic car drivers out there and we won't have to worry about it anymore.

Now you're a f'tard and a moron.

Haha, you do that and keep losing.

OK...Einstein...before you draw your own conclusions make sure to look at the hypothesis...I apologize for not being clear about it and it seems like you deserve an explanation for my actions...

I was getting my car reflashed...I had the tuner sit in the passanger seat with his laptop and I simply followed instructions...As dumb as this is without actually being on a dyno where can you achieve these kind of speeds if not on the highway...But don't worry I was sure to pick an isolated highway in the outskirts of the city where the only threat was hitting Bambi...I had a relash done twice since I had to flash it back to stock when my car went in for a "check engine" service...As it happens I had a wing on one time and it was off the next...and that's how I concluded my scientific experiment...BTW the tuner is from these boards and has done several eVo's in my area...so I trust his judgement...I haven't taken the car past the legal highway speed limit since...as I don't drive on highways...mostly streets...I hope this clarify's somethings for you...

I am not a believer in wind tunnel testings...IMO if a company needs a wind tunnel to show you gains over stock parts usually it means that they are so insignificant that you will not notice any difference...Like I said...the stock wing only serves its purpose at high speeds...well over 100MPH...I didn't notice a difference until 150MPH...stupid know...blame it on my tuner for not doing the tune on the dyno...lol...its all about marketing Voltex wants you to buy thier product with their name...I bet it comes with a big sticker too...

OK ********...actually doesn't seem like a bad idea talking to my mustang buddies as they are definately more about "all go no show" than you rice boys in this thread...even though it seems like you actually might put the VOLTEX wing to some use...you're still a douchebag...

You still haven't answered my qustion...at what speeds did the stock wing stop functioning? at what speeds is the VOLTEX better than stock? I can only conclude that its at speeds higher than 100MPH...and who the f*ck buys a huge wing to go at those speeds on the street? (I at least had a legit excuse for what its worth... )

You're still here? And keep making even more of a fool out of yourself. The gains were noticable at corner speeds, even at 45 mph (especially longer turns where you could hold the speed). So, again, you're making a damn idiot out of yourself talking about something you don't even understand. With more downforce the wing keeps the car planted to the ground, thus giving you more grip and stability, not only faster track out.

Just so you know, because of the wind tunnel Voltex can design a wing, that at speeds of over 100 mph can lift your front end up (without proper downforce upfront). This is a reference for your slow working brain, just to give you an idea of how much downforce is being put down with this type of a wing

NO...initially if I recall correctly I started out in 3rd gear and I had to go to specific RPM...than to a specific speed...I recall doing the same thing in 4th gear...starting out at a specific RPM and reaching a specific RPM...and then the speed...I don't have a MBC nor do I have guages to tell me what the boost level is...The tuner told me that he can actually raise the boost through the computer...I wanted to see how much the car actually boosts through out the gears...and how much boost it hold...hence going into fifth...all of this was done for a short period of time...not like I was doing 150MPH just because i wanna go fast...some of you really got the wrong impression...but rightfully so...
