Vent VIII rear bumper via holes???
Yes, I know they're diffusers out there, but I want to modify the rear bumper by cutting out the pieces around the license plate to reduce the parachuting effect. My questions are: Anyone done this already? Is this a bad idea some how?
paul nelson did this on his 9 second evo 8 race car and it's working for him...aside from looking like a honda and being incredibly ugly I'm sure it's not hurting anything

Ahh, so that's what all those holes are in ricer Civics? I never knew what on earth was going on...
I guess my input will be, how much of a difference do you think it will make and how much do you value that difference? Are you trying to make a ridiculous drag car or serious dedicated track *****? I don't know what you use the car for or how intensively you race, but I'll say that if your car has the rear seat still in it, cutting the rear bumper to go faster would not be near the top of my list of go-fast mods.

I'd like to see pictures of this. That doesn't sound like a terrible idea. I've heard of people picking up upto 3mph in the 1/4 with these holes. That'd be noticable IMO.
