I think most of us EVO owners are dying for some sort of A-pillar pod.

But, compared to the cost of an Autometer mass produced pod for other cars, $120 sounds a bit high.

I understand that it is custom work, but nevertheless i think that waiting for a big company to sell them for much cheaper may be a better option for me, especially when the custom piece comes with consequences like a covered tweeter.

But post some pics and maybe ill have second thoughts.

Maybe I'm an idiot or I'm just not picturing the a-pillar piece properly, but wouldn't it be easy to just cut out a hole for the tweeter?

I just installed this on another evo and I agree, it does look bad. It doesn't line up and you pretty much have to destroy your stock pillar by drilling a hole in it for the guage wires. You also need to find some way to stick the CF cover pillar on the stock pillar, I just screwed it in to the stock one. It looks OK but the only problem, is that in some areas it doesn't line up right (you can see some of the stock A pillar white peeking through.)

One of the actual pods is covering the tweeter, or pretty close to it.

If a pod is that low I'm wondering how well I'll be able to see it. At 6'2" my EGT slightly obscures my view of the boost gauge as my car is at present. Still...I need to swap out my a pillar because I'm having problems with my gauge pod staying attached. Not pleasant while driving.

My mistake, diesel.

It's a 2g Eclipse. Long story short, Road Race said they'd fit with a little modification...which is true if you want to use a heat gun...but it will not fit on snuggly when you just place it over the column. Trust me when I say you don't want to cut a hole in your pillar for a pod that doesn't fit properly. I can't badmouth Auto Meter's quality though.

Anyway, I want an A pillar that doesn't have a gash cut in it.

Pics as promised. Yes, I know they're crappy, but had to use camera at work. I can take some more high-res ones at home if these don't give you a good enough idea.
