That CWest kit is off the wall! Hell yeah! The Gialla kit looks nice, but too close to stock. If you're going to pay all that money for a front bumper, why buy one that looks like a stock bumper? IMO, CWest is the best

I just came back from a Gialla dealer in Japan, they have 2 front bumper styles for the EVO8. Both look but cost $$$. The basic one you see the picts here cost about $1000-1100 shipped to the USA. The Sportier version cost like $200 extra.

Actually no, there was an article with the Mitsubishi rep saying that re-engineering the Colt for WRC cost too much so for now, they are staying with the Lancer for next year at least
Actually, the Evo isn't even based on the Lancer despite it's name. When the evo 7 came out, it bas based on the mitsubishi Cedia. I am not sure if they still make lancers in japan, but the stateside lancer is not the same as what is in japan. Not sure why mitsu still calls it a lancer evolution, at least for japan anyway

It's just the Cedia platform. They probably spent all their money re-engineering the Evo for the Cedia so now they can't spend it on the Colt which makes me glad.

The Colt, like the recent trend in Japanese vehicles, is another one of those compact bubbleboys.

Could you imagine driving a Colt Evolution? Americans would never accept such a thing.

They simply rebuilt the Cedia platform and named it the Lancer so yes, it is the same Lancer across the pond. The old Cedia doesn't exist anymore.

See?

That may be true now, but not when the evo 7 came out. Trust me, I live in japan and have seen it first hand. When the evo 7 came out it was based on the cedia platform and the cedia was still called a cedia, not lancer. It may have changed for 2003-2004, but for 2001-2002, that's how it was.

Does it matter if it is based on the cedia or the laner? Both of those cars suck. I hated them. In my opinion, they shouldn't have based the evo on anything other eco platform, thus limited the design of th evo. I think the evo9 if they will ever make one should just be called as Evolution GSR or GSII. And make it more compact and more sportier. Two doors and two seats should be awesome. While they at it, might as well make the 4G63 and 6G63. ahha. Inline 6!!! 2.5L. Oh yea, redesign the headlights and make it more aggressive. Skyline GTR style would be awesome. And supra tail lights would be a bonus. I just really dont understand what auto designers nowaday thinking man. I mean, they just dont have taste or just incapable of design good looking cars. Skyline GTR headlights and supra tail lights, with huge front and rear finders would make any car look sick. Redesign the 2.0 4g63 to a bigger displacement and an inline 6 would be awesome.

you might as well get a Skyline if those are things you are asking for in a new evo...the reason Mitsu kept the car based on an Econo-sedan body is because they already have the 3000gt,FTO and Eclipse for the sports coupe body...and if you want to get 6cyl. and stay in the Mitsu family get a Galant VR4 the new ones come turbo 6cyl. awd.

car designers are supposed to revolutionize and start new trends in the automotive industry...move up and push the creativity and design levels not to go sideways and stick to a design thats been done over and over again...yes mitsu's designers are on a slump right now...well US designs that is...i think the colt and other JDM Mitsu designs seem to be doing very nicely their head designer Olivier Boulay also known for being the #1 designer for Mercedes, head designer for Chrylser last year and Subaru's designer as well has made huge differences to their designs...so i'm expecting a few good things to come out of his mind...hell he's already proven himself to me...designing the Colt, Airtrek[turbo R], Grandis, Dion, eK Sport and the other concept cars circulating around right now.
