I was out of the country for three months and my car was unfortunately not garaged kept. The bird **** that got on my hood went right through the clear coat. Is there anything I can do besides get it painted.

 

Return the favor to the bird. Otherwise went through the clear coat in my experience ya need to get it to a shop or a DIY

 

ya only thing can be done is maybe touch it up (don't know how good it would look) or just get the area repainted. When i bought my evo there was another one that just came in and the previous owner let bird sh*t bake in the sun for a few days and messed up the hood and roof. Kinda ashame

 

I had a bird crap on my old car and when I tried to wipe it off the next day with some quick detailer it scratched up the paint.

 

Soak the crap out of the bird **** so that it becomes soft enough to wash off other wise it will further scratch the paint.

A neighbor of mine keeps mentioning something called a Teflon Paint sealer/protection. Research it or similar products. I think that can be used similar to clear coating.

 

I've had that problem twice in the last month on my MR I had one big *** bird **** on the pass door that left 3 big, long drips that ate through the clearcoat. I was able to clean it with some glazing compound but it must have just cleaned out the rest of the crap because the 3 spots came back. Then the other day I got another small spot on my hood where it ate through. I'm sure it doesn't help that Mitsu has terrible paint in the first place but this is ridiculous
