The tires aren't that bad, I have the FK-452s and for a general summer tire (ie. for street and some autocross or track driving) they're good.

They are not good at all for autox. They are ok if you don't want your Evo to have its supreme handling, but that makes little sense when showing off your new rims, imo. They are well below the Falken RT-615, and that tire is not even competitive in autox. Different perspectives on the meaning of "quality" I suppose. The FK-452 is a low-level tire that shouldn't even be used on an Evo except for people who simply don't care how their Evo handles and need to cheap out. That's just how it is...

Well not everyone wants or needs top-level handling all the time. Realistically, you could (or rather should) never drive so hard on the street as to go past the abilities of even a cheap tire like the FK-452s so if all he does is street driving, why pay top dollar for tires like RE01Rs or Advans which are extremely sticky but wear out quickly? I prefer to have FK-452s for daily driving and a second set of rims with RT-615s or RE01Rs for track use.

was wandering how you like them so far? ride noticeably bumpier than stock? how does acceleration feel? how much are you lowered front and rear? how is steering response? why did you have to roll the rear fenders, from what I've heard no one else with these wheels have had to?
The suspension is setup very mild right now. It is daily driven and I do have to run into Boston regularly. The ride is definitely more compliant and the handling at this mild setting seems to be better. Of course, I don't have any sort of hard evidence to back this up other then the old butt g-meter.

I requested that the shop roll the fenders if needed. I can't say for sure that it would have rubbed, but from the look of it, it would have been damn close if it didn't.

I came across no negative reviews while doing research for the tires. Everybody has their own opinions of what tires you should get on here. I don't currently Autox or do track days, and if I did I, I'd be using either the stock BBS' or the Enkei's that I currently use as winter wheels with something recommended for Autox.

That said, you are entitled to your opinion of my crappy tire selection. I got about 200 miles on them and am happy.

Besides, where were you when I was trying to pick tires out...

I ran the 452's at VIR last weekend for 8 sessions to shake down the car and I out handled some very high end cars. I have no complaints but of course I will upgrade to some R comps when the new wheels arrive.

Chris car looks awesome!

Now I know you are resident Guru on here but how Sir did you come to this conclusion that they are horrible? Have you actually used them? Granted these are not a track tire, they ARE a very capable street tire a they handle great in the rain, have almost 0 noise and Handle exceptionally well in the dry. For a "budget" tire not a cheap tire they are very good for the money. I would like to see conclusive proof that these are worthless as you say..
