It's hard to make out cause of the size limitations for pic uploads, but it's a vent I assume directs air to the brakes or oil cooler.

Could very well be ... I just recently bought this car from Pudge here on the forums, and I believe he lived in the York, PA area.

 

I use zaino too. But my detail took a few hours a day for a week
clay
zaino AIO
2 layers Z5
2 layers Z2
1 layer CS
(1 layer of Z6 between each layer of Z5/Z2)

All by hand.
