Mitsubishi's attempt to built a WR spec car (04-05) was freaking lame. I actually just bought the Best Motoring that features the Lancer WR 05 and it finally explained to me why Mitsubishi fell off so hard in rallying at this point in time.

#1: The WR 05 was based on the Cedia and not the Evo.
#2: The WR 05 has all mechanical diffs including the center diff (NO ACD)

They don't talk about Mitsu. falling off but they definitely did. The reason they decided to go with mechanical diffs was because they thought that they were going to eventually ban active/computerized differentials.
