do you guys gotta buy a new valve cover gasket or no?? also.... is it the basic steps?


wet sand it to rough the surface.... then prime, then high temp paint, then a few clear?

two things,
1. yes, you can, and actually have to either powdercoat or paint magnesium, it oxidizes in the open air very quickly.
2. powdercoating a valve cover should cost between $40-$75 depending...

You don't have to, but I'd recommend it unless you like oil leaks.

When I got my valve cover powder coated, I replaced mine because it was a really old (I have a DSM not an EVO so mine was 10 years old). You might be able to get away with using the old gasket as your car isn't as old as a DSM.
