C/F trunks with wings...
Howd you drill your holes for your wing?
I'm debating this, but I'm really apprehensive about drilling my expensive lid and fubar'ing it up.

I used a sanding cone on a dremel, like the one pictured here on the far left. I used the cone to start a pilot hole and then used a drill bit afterwards. The advantage of using the cone was that it sanded away the layers, rather then tearing it away like a regular drill bit would. I also started with very small drill bits and gradually went bigger. It may have took a little while to complete, but I don't have any splits or cracks in the trunk.

Be sure to put a metal backing plate on the underneath side with your mounting bolts drilled through the plate..to aide in strength. The wing will cause lots of force and pressure. Carbn Fiber is extrmely stong however it dooes have it's limitations. But if you put the backer plate which the bolts drilled thrpough this aluminum plate then you shouldn't have any problems. Hope this helps..
If you drill/dremel. Make sure you put some painters tape on the area you're going to start drilling on so the drill bit doesn't move/get out of control and scrape up the clear coat. I learn this from personal experience drilling holes in my CF hood for hood pins on my 240sx.
I don't know if I would do it personally.
I drilled my JDP CF lip on 2 days ago to use the stock screws and on 2 of the holes, it started to break apart in the back after putting in the stock screws.

That's because you didnt have backer plates, on Carbon Fiber it is a must..!..
