Wax on the black rubber / plastic parts

So, i was waxing my car the other day and I didn't realize i had gotten wax on the inside part of my sideview mirror. The area that got waxed is a hard black plastic. Not exactly sure what those are called but now whenever i get out of the car i notice it. What's the best way of removing it? I ony tried wiping it with a wet towel with no luck any suggestions before i try soap and water?

Sponge, soap and water does not seem like it's too bad of a job to do.

if you don't get it off right away it'll be on there for awhile. I've had wax on some of that plastic trim and could never get if off. Now I usually use tape those sections off when I wax. I would like an answer too.

Tire shine will cover it up but just like on your tires it will wear off.

scrub with soap, then closely and carefully pressure wash it off.

Tape the black parts off before you wax and then apply Back to Black or Aerospace to the mouldings.
