Hey guys,
About a month ago I purchased an OEM car cover. Ever since I started using the car cover, I am notcing ALOT of scratches and swirl marks everywhere. Especially on my OEM wind deflectors which I also purchased a month ago (And now they look like ****, swirls all over them)

I just can't figure it out... I use the same shammy I always have (Well same brand anyways) I use the Absorber shammy. But I have never noticed a problem before..... So do you guys think that it's poosible that it's the car cover leaving scratches and swirl marks?

Sure, a car cover can scratch your car. The risk grows exponentially if the paint isn't 100% dirt-free. You may want to visit the detailing forum. Good luck.

 

The only thing I can think of is if the car is the dirt on the car is rubbing against the paint and the car cover when you put it on or if you park your car outside, the wind way move it around and end up rubbing the dirt against your paint causing swirl marks. Also for drying cars id recommend a waffle weave microfiber towel.

 

+1 on visiting the detailing forum. Alot of helpful info on how to take care of your car (not saying you dont know how to).

 

It is probably the car cover doing it if you weren't having issues before.

I used to use the absorber as well but, I noticed it would actually puts swirls in my paint. I've started drying the car using microfiber towels and they seem to be much better.

 

You have dirt inbetween the cover and your cars clear coat. Even the process of putting the sucker on can cause massive scratches.
