Grab a tarp and throw it in the backseat before you go. That's the simpliest way. Next step would be to get a bag for your snowboard (or wrap it in something too). When I put the board in the front seat on the Porsche I put a small tarp down, lay the seat way down, wrap the board up, and then put my coat and some other stuff around the board so it won't move around too much. Once I've got it all secure and drip free (or so it will at least drip only on my clothes and the tarp, but I always take time to scrape it off really well before I leave the slopes) then I seatbelt it in. I get the funniest looks when I go boarding in that car too.

REALLY easy. And because of that REALLY removable

They clamp down inside the window-wells (where the door seals to the rest of the body). So once you adjust them the first time, all you have to do to take them off (and put them back on) is undo (or do) the clamps. I'd have mine off most of the time, only put them on when I knew I'd be going boarding soon.

The first time setting it up can be a PITA, but once you get it done taking them off and on is just a matter of poping the tension clamps....(and unlocking them, if you were smart enough to get locks for the $600+ racks).

Ill dig up some pics of my rack set-up...

i have the yakima rack as well...fits great...pops on and off easy. I would post a pic but i dont have any...and the rack is not on the car. Can't go wrong with it...get the wind guard thing...looks better as well as stops the whistling/ noise from wind (if there is some)

So, I have a question,
so I might buy a Thule roof rack, and there's also this "Fit Kit" do I need to buy that as well?

Is the fit kit a universal base for Thule mounts, then I can buy each individual rack (bike, board, canoe, etc.) to fit it on the base? Is that the idea?
