The Official: "What I got in the mail today" Thread - Show 'em off!
Hey, check that out, a box arrived today.
I wonder what's in it? (There is a visible clue in this picture on the box itself. Bonus points if you guess correctly before continuing on.)

A close look at the label reveals that it's from a one Jon Ripple in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I wonder what T.R.E. means?

Let's crack open the box and see what we can see. Nothing too exciting.

Removal of the top layer shows us some serious Styrofoam and packing paper. Still not sure what it is? Continue on.

Peeling back some of the packing paper is helping. I'm starting to think I know what I'm looking at here...

Let's get the rest of that paper out of there, shall we? What exactly is this? It looks like the transmission for a go-kart or something.

Pulling it from the box shows that it's not the transmission from a go-kart, but something much more.

Interesting, on one end of it there appears to be a small round piece of glass installed.
I wonder what that's for?

Let's turn it around and get a look at the tag that's ziptied to the opposite end.

Looking at the tag and comparing it to the T.R.E. website reveals that it's got the 12 plate max-lock rear differential service, complete with the fluid sight glass and heavy duty side cover!
Well, now I know what this is! It's a modified Evo IX rear differential!
Oh, you knew that already? Well, why didn't you say so?

This is a great addition, now I don't have to crack open my OEM rear diff and try to flip around my clutch plates to induce more throttle oversteer!
You can learm much more about this upgrade for your CT9A chassis here.
