Question 2-Way Alarms for Evo

Has anyone here installed some kind of a 2-way alarm in their Evo ? Any difficulties with install, wiring, remote starter, etc.? I'm thinking about getting a Viper. Any comments would really help.

I installed the viper 790vx on mine. I like the hornet unit better on my Jeep. Think that is the unit you should go with.

I wish mine had a better range. Anyone ever heard of boosting the signal on one of these?

I posted the wiring locations/colors in a different post, you can also find it on dcevoclub.com

I have the compustar remote start alarm and turbo timer function included for free. I think this makes a AWESOME investment for people who needs and a ALARM and turbo timer. The range is decent and the free turbo timer is just a BONUS

Definitely go with the compustar 2WSS. I got my EVO vandalized a couple months ago, so I decided to get the best alarm available. DEI/Clifford alarms are the the best at everything except for the range of their 2-way alarms. I have tested the range of my compustar at amusement parks and movie theaters and I can communicate with my car about 90% of the time within those venues. With the turbo timer/remote start, you can walk away from your EVO and have the alarm auto arm itself and have the engine turn off 2 minutes later without having to push a button to arm it. You might have a hard time finding a authorized compustar dealer though. Feel free to PM me about my compustar/evo setup.

DEI has newly revamped alarms with integrated TT. DEI is the most repected company out there and has the highest reliability. With the exception of Compustar (Spread Spectrum), they have the longest range on the market. Honestly, how much range does one really need. I am in a toss up between the two. Oh, DEI transmitter is way smaller than the Compustar.
