New Wheels/Brakes/Suspension!! Low Offset/Stretched tire content
I think the stretch tire look only runs well on meaty tires. I understand you like the look, but it's not very nice to leave the lip so exposed on such nice wheels. Be careful of the curbs!
<grin> I owned Volkswagens since 1982 when I bought a '75 Scirocco. It was replaced with an A1 GTI, later with an A2 GTI, and another A2 GTI that I drove off the lot in 1991 and sold this summer, among others. At that time, VW attracted enthusiast pilots who drove the cars, because they offered an almost unprecedented combination of handling, sporting refinement, and an overall driving experience relative to their cost. Then, about 10 years ago, something changed in the culture. Stretched tires, ridiculous drops that killed the cars' respective suspension geometries, wider wheels/tires on the back of a FTW car, etc came into vogue. The cars went from an enthusiast pilots' entry-level sporting machines to caricatures of their former selves.
(also ex Vdub owner, 91 GTi, 8v), but I was never into the stretched look....it's ur evo though, so wait to make it unique...why always do what every one else does? Nice job man, some jdm heads/tails would clean it up nicely
