OUCH! pictures
wow people are retarded. how does this happen? my guess, most are do to higher speeds. and this sucks for me cause i would love to be in this beautiful machine but insurance is so crazy because of stupid people like this. granted accidents do happen, but still most could have been avoided by simple choices. come on people be smart.
^^^they are called accidents for a reason... they just happen... dont blame you're not being able to afford an evo on other people. especially the ones that were so unlucky to suffer through all this... its your own fault... as for being smart, maybe if you were a lil bit "smarter" you could afford one.......
I finally see why people wreck Evo's. I totaled mine last month. I had owned it for 2 years. These cars give even 43 year old women the confidence to drive like Senna. Sometimes a car being so forgiving like the Evo giving you that confidence is a great thing. But like any normal human being, sometimes you take that little bit of confidence the car gives you and take it just one step too far. Though the Evo is the most forgiving car I've even driven, one night it did not accept my apology
I came into an off camber corner, I've been around millions of times, but this time when I felt the car twitch, I made the mistake of lifting off the throttle. I know not to do that. Simple physics say if you're in an oversteer at corner entry due the the rear being light, the last thing you want to do is leave OFF the throttle. And again, I knew not to do this, but for some reason, I did. The results were me doing a 360 while smahsing into a guardrail.
**** happens. I always thought the same of people "stupid people, how do they wreck these cars!" But now I know. Accidents happen, and people make stupid choices. That's life. And yes, of course accidents can be avoided with responsible driving, but it's an Evo for gods sake. It's meant for the occasional spirited driving. And while you're driving spiritedly, anything can happen, to anybody, no matter what the car. I'm not a stupid person. I drove responsibly on the street. If I wanted to have some fun, I always did it where the was no traffic or people.
So even though Evo's are one of the best handling cars in the world, I can see why so many are totaled. But I don't think when you see a picture of a wrecked car people so be so quick to judge. You don't know how the wreck happened, what the situation was, etc. **** happens and that's life, no matter who you are

perhaps you will get more 'driver confidence' compared to ...say... a Civic or so, but your not going too far with that. I have felt much more driver-ease and confidence while driving in a BMW 3-series than I have ever felt in an Evo X. I don't miss that much since that 'confidence' got me in trouble a lot...
and repairing a BMW is darn expensive-impossible.

I see tons of wrecked Evo's in auctions and on the lots themselves.
The #1 similarity between 90% of them are extremely worn tires. Some are even at the wear bars/non existent tread yet they continue to drive! It provides an easy explanation as to why the cars ended up how they did.
Another thing is I've NEVER ran across a stock Evo in the auctions. They'd all been modified one way or another.
