Ok...I just got off the phone with the dealer and they said the standard lancer spoiler would not bolt up to the EVO holese and that drilling would have to be done. Do you guys know if there is a less gawdy aftermarket spoiler that would bolt to factory EVO holes?

So it can be replaced with EVO GT wing without drilling? I dont really care what the dealer said. I have been on car forums enough to know to trust you guys before I trust a dealer. I like the standard taillights better too and black is the color I am getting so that is perfect. Thanks.

 

Drilling would have to be done in order to install the small GT spoiler. See the center piece?:







I'm not sure about the side bolts if they are compatible between the High wing and the small GT spoiler.

 

The Evo is available with a small spoiler. It looks like the spoiler from the OZ? The local Dealership has a white Evo with the small spoiler from the factory and I like it. The car in white along with the low-profile spoiler looks like a "sleeper". Probably could avoid a lot of attention from the Cops with the low profile spoiler and white color?

Maybe you should wait until you see it in person. I know I had seen 1000+ pics before seeing the Evo at the dealership. Once I did I had a totally different (higher) opinion of the looks. It was like seeing it for the first time.

I've got an OZ and I can tell you, TAKE THE EVO AND THE WING.

I just hate wings, whatever kind or height, except the very small (1/4") flat M3 style spoiler.

i think the evo looks better without a spoiler at all, than with the oz one, i think the big wing is king

 

The local dealer here in No. VA (Stohlman) had two low-profile spoiler Evos on the lot this morning, a white one and a blue one.

Those are the first I've seen with the small spoiler.

If you look at the passenger side of the deck lid, there is a wire connector with a white snap tab on it. On my car (which has large spoiler), connector is ny-tied to line for tail lights. The hole is visible about an inch away that would accept the snap tab. I am assuming this would attach to wire from small spoiler for brake light. Wouldn't make much sense for to have two wiring harnesses.

 

I have a silver evo8 with the small spoiler. Huntington Beach Mitsubishi had white available also. It is the same spoiler on the OZ rally edition and I like it. It makes the car look much more conservative. Don't get me wrong--I do like the C.F. spoiler--but I don't want to drive around attracting more attention to my car then I already do. The spoiler does come as a standard feature listed on the sticker as "Low-Profile GT Spolier" which will also saves you $480. Someone also posted a picture on a different thread I started in the EVO General section

 

Post some pics from different angles please. I've seen the pictures you were referring to & I'ld like to see som side shots etc.

 

yep H.B. mitsu does, I almost bought that one. I opted for the silver & being able to take the bLiNg BLinG wing off if I wanted to, because the smaller OZ style has the center brake built in. I'm one of those people that does not like shopping carts on the cars Lol, in fact the wing would have been off the first night I had it, but Mitsu has some sort of double-sided tape (not just a "padding", like my eclipse GT) and that kinda P.O.'d me....

 

i have a black oz lancer with the small spoiler.. and looking to do a swap for a evo 8 trunk lid.. if any one is interested just pm. i will be willing to drive for a half way meet to do the swap if it is a reasonable time frame of a drive...
