A pillar from Fireball and Autotechnic AC S7 gauges
Hey guys,
Installed the sweet 3 pod pillar from Fireball this weekend as well as Autotechnic AC S7 Boost, A/F, and Oil pressure gauges in the evo. At the moment, only the lighting works but I should have time to hook up the functional parts of the gauges tonite!
If you're looking to mount gauges, this is easily by far the best solution. I love the thing! The fitment is really good. Obviously not perfect like the stock piece because there aren't 5 or so clips holding it in. Mounting was a little tricky. I later found out from fireball that the easiest way is to ziptie the bracket that is molded into it to the wires running up the a pillar. I did that and it holds well.
I was surprised how close the color match is. If you hold up his piece and the stock piece next to each other you can see the difference. However, when its on the car, I can't see a difference comparing it to the pillar on the other side.
Viewing the gauges is very easy as well. I'm 6'1" and have no problem seeing the bottom gauge. Also, as fireball said, I have not noticed any difference in sound from covering the tweeter (which you do not have to remove to install, a very good thing considering how hard the bottom bolt is to get to..I tried at first )
Here are the pics! More can be found here

Like the thread title says Fireball is selling them (the pillars). The first batch is out, second was on order last I heard.
Gauges I'm sure you could find through one or many of the forum's vendors.

StreetPowerEvo - yeah, the gauges are a bit of a contrast to the stock gauges but they look pretty cool
Autotechnics makes gauge overlays in the same patern but obivously not for evos.
zTargetz - Fit and finish is very good, not 100% perfect. The only gaps I've seen are that the weatherstripping on the inside doesn't hung the pillar (which could easily be remedied with adhesive and if you line the top of the pillar up perfectly the bottom lines up against the main dash piece instead of sliding underneath it like the stock piece. Hardly noticable and I honestly have no complaints about the piece.
YEVOVIII - The only two places I found searching on my own that had these gauges wereJMD Racing and Performance-R. I originally ordered from performance-r because they were cheaper but then the guy's store got broken into and all the a/f's got stolen. So he credited my charge (I assume, haven't gotten my statement yet) and sent the other two, one of which was wrong. I ordered oil temp and got sent oil pressure, but went with it anyway since I wasn't sure which of those two I was going to get in the first place.
I ordered the A/F from jmd racing after he told me about the theft and that gauge actually got to me a day before the original two. JMD's prices were a little bit higher, but after my experience I would go with them instead (or a vendor if any of them have the gauges). Performance-R told me the A/F gauges were on 2 week backorder at least

Don't get me wrong, like Technoz said, the fit is 98% there already. Small, small tweaks for perfectionists like me may be needed.

and just for the record, the adhesive on the backs of velcro strips do not stick well to the headliner nor the inside of the fiberglass mold. Go figure
