CF fading question

I ordered a bunch of CF parts (lip, side skirts, etc) from rexpeed and my bodyshop is suggesting I have them clear coat all the parts before putting them on so the CF doesn't fade or discolor. They said I should have the OEM wing done too.

So, should I have them do it or not? I don't mind doing it if there will be a benefit, but I don't want to mess with the really nice looking parts for no reason.

thanks

it usually takes a few years for stuff to fade and that in the brutal florida sun, if you garage the car or covered parking it would probally take even longer, you could wait until it actually fades and then have them re clear coat it

My theory on clearing carbon fiber is this. If you buy a so, so carbon fiber piece. I would always clear it right away. The main problem Ive heard from cheap carbon fiber parts is that the gel coat will fade. So for those "cheap" carbon fiber parts, yes. This stuff is from rexpeed, so I think it would be good quality stuff. You can always do it on the safe side if you want though!
