You either love it or hate it - race stripes and white RPF1s
Thanks for the comments - I ready every one of them.
Some will say it's ricey but fortunately there are those who recognize that it is reminiscent of the TME Evo 6.5 similar to the one that Tommi Makinen drove to win four consecutive World Rally Championships...
As "wasFWDnowAWD " pointed out, they actually made an evo you can buy right off the showroom floor with the stripes and white wheels. Its part of the rally legacy that made the Evo what it is today. Not rice by any means. At least not to me though I'm sure some differ in opinions.
I'm a rally fan, do a lot of autocrossing, and wanted to do some preparations to my Evo in manner that payed homage to the Evo's rally legacy.

Darn CF lip cracked when I hit a curb then shattered and broke when I hit a cone doing what I do - autocrossing. Next time I'll get a polyeurethane "cone safe" lip that won't shatter.
Thanks! While it might look good slammed, it probably wouldn't handle too great. It will be lowered once I get coilovers but not so much that it compromises the wheel travel or mess up the geometry.
Well they're not for everyone but they are unique. I wanted to do soemthing that would make it different and stand out - and this does stand out. It get a lot of looks and kids seem to love it (laugh). If I do get tired of them I can just peel them off.
I agree the MR BBSs are nice wheels and would look good white. However, these wheels were carefully chosen for their ability to improve the car's performance and make it faster - not because of looks. MR BBS wheels are 8" wide and weigh 17.8 pounds. These RPF1 wheels are 9.5" wide and weigh 16.5 pounds. I needed the wider wheel to give better support to the tire sidewalls which will in turn result in better handling. The lighter wheels will also result in reduced rotational mass and reduced unsprung wheight which will improve acceleration and handling.

so the stripes made you faster? wow i better get some of those...honestly if you lowered the car and the rims were black it would look alot better even with the stripes imho

Not my cup of tea. I would've saved the money instead of buying the sticker and put it into my suspension fund. I didn't know the sticker makes the performance better than suspension? But it's your car so do what you gotta do. BTW the TME have 3 color of stripes, i only see 2 on yours and it doesn't have that curve to the hood like the TME. So the "TME" look doesn't really look like that. Oh yeah, don't forget the logo sticker on the side of the spoiler.

The stripes cost about $7 for two rolls of vinyl tape. That won't buy much of a lip, coilovers, or any sort of performance mod.
I want the lip but I also want to go fast. Since I can only afford one at a time, I have to make a priority list. The go fast wins in this case. I'm getting the lip after the coilovers.
Putting the stripes on was so cheap it was almost free so it took away from nothing.
Why you bustin' my ***** anyway?
I agree. I didn't mean to sound as if I was saying that looks don't matter. If that was the case I'd roll my fenders with a pair of pliers. Of course I want it to look good while going fast.
