Please show me where in this pic you see the Voltex diffuser:

Feel free to also tell me if you see anything that looks even remotely similar to the diffuser in question on the HKS Evo:

In fact, if you look at the overwhelming majority of rear diffuser designs, you'll see that they look nothing like the Voltex design whatsoever!

Oopsy, you just made an asshat out of yourself!

here you go, this is MFQ Motorsport's Time Attack Evo. So far they have done,
2nd:RTA BUTTON WILLOW UNLIMITED CLASS 12/03/06
2nd:RTA BUTTON WILLOW MODIFIED CLASS 4/29/07
1st: RTA BUTTON WILLOW MODIFIED CLASS CHAMPION 3/30/08
1st: RTA GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY MODIFIED CLASS CHAMPION 4/20/08
1st: RTA CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY MODIFIED CLASS CHAMPION 7/20/08

And here is a video of their car running..and what do you know..the voltex diffuser is on!? 0.0..
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...mo3_317366.htm

I believe the CyberEvo has the underbody diffuser if you know what that means and weight reduction on parts not needed hmmm...and well the HKS Evo won't put any other body parts on their car because they are HKS, and they should have an underbody diffuser as well..Tell me where you see any body parts made by a different manufacturer on this car other than wheels.

I do believe that the diffuser adds SOME(not a LOT) aerodynamic stability but just not enough for the big top Time Attack Evo's to add on to their cars.

edit: heres another one :P

I never said the piece didn't provide some benefits, I was just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if aesthetics were a major consideration in creating it. People here are just so quick to think anything "JDM" was designed by an F1 team, for Christ's sake.

yeah im the asshat youre right
i dont read these forums very often and ive never even owned a diffuser so idk why i even bothered sorry man

you and your megan exhaust and kw variants need to wake up theres serious people around here with evos and while i may never run a voltex diffuser again if you saw the design of it underneath the car youd know while its not a top notch race part nor does it have the price tag its a pretty good diffuser as far as diffusers go it does its best to eliminate the parachute effect caused by the ****ty rear bumper on the evos and is very well mounted

also to make a rear diffuser even useful youd need an almost completely flat bottomed evo and we all know there isny many of those on this forum
and finally when i first read the post you made i thought you were generally speaking aboput voltex not just the diffuser untill i reread it again today
"While it's true that I've seen pics of Voltex parts in a wind tunnel and have certainly seen them on plenty of race cars, you'd have to be quite foolish to assume the part isn't made without any aesthetic considerations.."

ill leave with this...everyone loves a pretty race car

Removed the pic to save some bandwidth. In this pic looks like the car has on the vortex gen? I've wondered about the vortex gen with a non-stock height wing. This pic seems to imply that air is getting forced under the wing instead of over because of the wing's height.

Seems to me that with a stock height wing that ends up putting the air on top of the wing. But I am sure the resident MEs or AEs can comment .

I have and like the APR personally, I do notice a difference on the highway. Maybe that's why they designed the X's fairly similar.
