Possible to buff headlights?

Is it possible to buff out rock chips and knicks from headlights?

My headlights took a beating from my first year in Alaska, and they look like gah-bage. Any tricks/tips?

Wet sand it, clear coat it and then buff it. then apply some venture shield head light protection film.

You may not be able to get some chips out though, depending on how deep they are.

I have my whole front end venture shielded and it is the best investment I have made on this car so far next to the mud flaps.

I usually wet sand with a lightly gritted sandpaper and apply a few coats of liquid wax. Id be curious to hearing anything that has worked better.

Local automotive stores like Autozone and Pepboys sell a headlight kit made by Permatex. They work very well. Unless you have a buffer, I dont suggest you wetsanding since it will take very long to repolish by hand. Sand paper should be 1500-2000 grit, and always keep the area wet!

I've done mine. I have slight scuff marks where I didnt buff too well. It'll come out just follow what everyone else said and you'll be fine.
