APR Carbon Fiber Splitter - INSTALLED
APR Carbon Fiber Splitter - INSTALLED
OK folks...as promised here are some photos of the APR Carbon Fiber Splitter installed on my Tarmac Black Evo.
It was a tough day to photo a black car and it's actually very tough to photograph the splitter but here are a few.
Mine came from APR via gldenchld.
Gldenchld lives on the east coast like I do and is also selling the same splitter.
Obsoleteasian is also taking group buy orders for those interested.

I installed it without the rods and so far I've had no issues. I added additional installation hardware so I did not reuse the plastic
fasteners. I didn't trust them so I beefed it up with some stainless hardware and double washers.
The installation was easy. The removal of the old plastic under-tray was a hassle only because there were so many fasteners. I slid under the car with the splitter on my chest and attached all the hardware loosely, then tightened from front to back since the front hardware is harder to reach.
The hole alignment was perfect, and I do mean perfect. I drilled no additional holes, and again my only modifications were to use better hardware and not attach the rods.
I think it looks great on Tarmac and it seems real solid. I liked the rubber edge which I know some were debating. It's one big chunk of CF and I'm real happy with it.
As far as clearance I notice no difference. It does stick out more on the front and sides so I'm being careful parking, but it doesn't even lower the car 1/2-inch so you don't have to worry about bottoming out. VISUALLY I think it ReALLY lowers the car and balances the front with the big CF wing in the back.
My only regret is that I plan to remove it in a few weeks for snow driving. As tough as it feels I don't want to bonk it on an ice ball or frozen snow piles.
I'd be happy to answer any question for those interested.
