Hey guys, just wondering if it's possible to make a pre-2000 model evo, such as the 1997 Evo IV look like an Evo VII or even VIII ? I have seen some of the bodykits on the net made for 2000+ US Lancers etc. but have not heard of someone 'upgrading' the look of their Evo to a more modern model. How do-able is this? Thanks

P.S - I live in New Zealand, so am not sure of the difference in NZ Evo's and US Evo's and what this will mean to the modding of kits etc.

 

It is possible to "upgrade" with certain evo generations. Evos 1-3 shared the same body, 4-6 shared, and 7-8 shared. In japan a lot of people make evo 1-2 into 3s. But you cannot make a 1-6 look like a 7-8 etc...

So does this sharing of body shapes mean that I can make an EVO IV into an EVO VI, or use VI body kits on my EVO IV and they will fit with minimal to no modding?

 

right, you could put an evo VI kit on a IV and for the most part it will look just like a real VI. All the parts(front, side, rear bumpers and wing) should fit with no modding. That's how it is with 1-3s, just have to drill a few holes for certain things, thats all
