update on paint

it's been almost 5 months since i first re-painted the logo. its holding up REALLY well. theres only one chip noticeable on it (on the S) and it looks like i won't have to re-paint it for a while!

If you just buy a black paint marker you don't have to go through the whole process of taping off your intercooler. If you can color inside the lines then just use a paint marker, i have done it do mine and it looks brand new, and it only takes about 5 minutes.

To make a stencil you can just buy an AMS sticker of the same size and put on a piece of cardboard then cut the sticker out. Now you have a cheap and easy stencil.

what about using the same paint for a "BLACK OUT" intercooler? wouldn't mess with the performance would it?

Warm weather and spring is coming up so I may re-do it again to get all of the little chips out and looking fresh for the spring time. Been looking into different ways to make a stencil so I can keep the logo looking fresh without having to tape it up every time. I'll keep you updated

Not sure about that one. I'd call AMS and ask em! Refer them to this thread to show them what kind of paint I used.
