still going strong...
i have a customer that has 140k on his 04 and it looks/runs better than ones we get with 40k. this car is immaculate. with mods on it.
was his daily commuter doing 100+miles a day until a few months ago.

I know I'll get critcised for this (probably on several levels) but my car has essentially no mods (anything changed is in my sig) it's NEVER been tracked, NEVER been launched. I still have FUN with it believe me. Additionally, I have had every single scheduled maintenance done by the dealer where I bought it. I know I know, tons of horror stories about dealers. The one I go to has been great. The main reason I have done it all at the dealership is because I got the 10 yr/100K mile warranty on my Evo and I wanted to give them NO reason not to honor my warranty if anything happened. Yep, I know, many of you think it doesn't matter, they'll void the warranty anyway. Well so far so good.
I only bring this up to say that I think if the car is treated as "designed" by Mitsubishi it can be very reliable. I have not had any issues at all. And while I have a lot of fun driving it I don't abuse it and I think that is why my stock clutch has lasted as long as it has.
So criticize away, but my car has been trouble free and I've had a blast with it in spite of having it dealer serviced.
