I live in LA too. Its supposedly law, but people hardly ever get caught. Most of the time, theyll write you up for one if they pull you over for something else. Most LA cops got bigger fish to fry.

Putting on the front plate is also not the most rational thing to do in LA either. We have red light cameras everywhere, and suppose you accidentally run a red, or cross the crosswalk like as a light turns red, and the camera snaps, you're out $271.

But, if you don't have your front plate on, you're fine. Plus, the fine for not having the front plate is $10. For every red light you run on accident, youd still be better off getting rolled from not having a front plate 27 times over.
