Alex, speak to Matt, we've been discussing at least coving my dash in late Dec. at the shop.
I'll be in town for about 10 days or so.

super cheap. Seems like decent quality. We'll see, I guess

I'm still dissapointed in the pictures. It makes it look greyish purple. The material is just as dark as the dash itself. I should take pictures with my real camera.

Not bad, I'd prefer wrapping the entire dash and encompassing double-stitching...

Looks so sick. Alot of detailed work went into this its prob the best suede setup thus far.

What else are you doing next? Do you have to clean it differently?

And it would end up looking horrible. Double stitching does look GREAT, if used correctly, and in moderation. It can quickly end up looking tacky, and WAYY to much if you get carried away. Remember, subtle is good in interior land.

Yeah double stitching is good in moderation, turbo is correct, I like what was done in this thread, being subtle is key.

This part will look great at first. However you will absolutely hate it in a few months. The alcantra will start to ball up and look cheap. Had 2 diffrent BMW's with alcantra on the wheel both turned this way even with proper care.

Yes sir, you are correct. Any suede will do this...its caused by the oils in your skin/hands.

Here is a couple pics of mine:

I covered the rear in Alcantera also, and put red gril cloth over the speaker covers (ill post up pics when I can see it- I have a ton of "stuff" stacked up in the back)

All the parts I covered (including the dash) were "roughed up" with 80 grit sand paper, and used industrial cement through a HV spray gun (think it was Wellwood)

Oho and by the way, the "real" stuff is 99 bucks a yard for panel weight, and @140 for seat weight (my seats are next, doing red in place of the blue). The material from fabric stores does not have UV protection, and will fade with sunlight.

^^Finally!! Someone who understands lol. your interior looks good! Just be careful with the red...you can easily get too much and it takes away from your look.
