i got my OEM JDM one for about $550, but that was in 08 i believe, and it was already painted. then an extra $200 for install and license plate frame bracket mod, and i still have my crash beam (modified) that they also did for me.

You can no longer get an authentic JDM rear for $550 or $600 shipped.

Some of us would save quite a bit going with the replica due to the fact that Mitsu doesn't make the JDM in every color (BBY).

Sounds more like you were unwilling to pay for the real deal. I don't get why people cheap out on such important parts. Nothing beats OEM body parts. I don't get why people choose aftermarket. Aftermarket doesn't last, look as good, or fit as well. That makes or breaks a car! And the sad part is we have access to the JDM OEM bumpers ALREADY painted for just a little more.

Oh well. Doesn't look too bad. Hope it stays that way.

sorry but after shipping 750-800 for a painted bumper is crazy. i would go aftermarket too.
and if people going honestly get a jdm oem bumper for 500 shipped of course they would not buy aftermarket. but the oem is over a third more in cost.

well with the price of everything jdm going through the roof some of us cant afford the real bumpers and im one of them so i went aftermarket. And if you think about it everyone is prone to and accident knowone is ammune and if you keep your car in good condition you really dont have to worry about a thing like everything else on the car

kinda of an old thread but price sure has risen on the OEM JDM rears... $800... minimum if not more and this is only a few months ago..

The Ebay one is looking real good at $345. I have a friend that owns a body shop so paint and install wont cost me anything.

$345 or $800 plus... no brainer... I guess I'll be pimping the Rota version of JDM rear here soon.

well I figured I post up some pics here instead of posting up another thread to get hated on.

I bought a Replica bumper from a company up in MD. Chaser Aerodynamics. Payed $300 total for it and a buddy who owns a body shop painted for me for $80. Yea I know... most people do not have that luxury but that is the main reason why I went with a Replica as opposed to paying $830 shipped for an OEM one. Overall it came out great and fitment was good. My only gripe is the upper edges of the bumper on the sides where it meets the side of the car its not perfect but I can live with it. You have to get up really close to look its not a perfect fit... again, if you are a perfectionist it will bug you but I can live with it.

As for the paint, it came out great, I had my buddy paint the diffuser Phantom Black as I don't like the way the OEM JDM rear color doesn't really stand out as much as other colors. Well these are Iphone pics and not the best. OEM flamers welcome for your comments as well positive ones. Total out of pocket was $380.
