I was under the impression a 17x9 rim (especially with a 245 tire) shouldn't be rubbing - is that normal?

Katchup, good choice in tires, tires size, wheel size, and the wheels look really good and I'm sure they are well worth the good value you got them for, especially for autocross and DD.

People saying he "should have went with a bigger tire", or he should have went 9.5"...
Have you actually autocrossed with both and compared laptimes back to back on both enough to justify this? There's a reason in SCCA STU class the 245 tire width standard, and especially on 9" whees, especially in Star Specs is one of the most dominant setups.

It is a great balance of grip, handling (load transition/sidewall stiffness), acceleration, braking, how it reacts to heat, per the weight and cost of the tire. In short, it's fast. People figured that out by racing.

I'd like to know how much they weigh, even just as a complete setup with the tires.

Thanks man, im with you, anyone sayin i needed wider is most likely a hard parker, these things dominated for me at my first autox!!

and ya Dawnxxxx i had to roll the fenders, this offset is to aggressive. as well as my stance. Rolled the rears tonight, no rubbin at all now!!! But i did crack the paint a little on my first fender

mark i will try and get pics asap
