The other day while cleaning my car i noticed a problem with my drivers seat. The fabric on it is loose and not tight. If you were sitting in the seat the left side (the back support and where it hits your ribs) has become loose and is no longer tight against the seat. Anyone have this problem? I'm woundering what the dealer will say. I'm probably going there today, so please post quick
This is a common problem with Recaro seats. I work on Porsche cars and as you know Porsche has been using Recaro seats for years, we have warranty issues with these seats all the time. The GT2, GT3, have Recaro seats that are similar to the EVO. The fastening system that Recaro uses will at times pull from the seat back. What I have done is to use some scotch bright to roughen slightly the seat back where the "seal" attaches too the seat back. Sometimes this will hold for awhile if not forever but if it pulls again, I have added glue as a last resort. Porsche sometimes as a last resort will replace the seat completely (this will never happen with Mitsu warranty sadly however). I really don't trust my dealer so I did the work myself and it seems to be holding alot better. Good luck.

The blue insert portion of my passenger seat is very loose. When no-one is sitting in it it will 'puff' out from the seat. Haven't noticed it on my driver side yet; weird since my side gets used soo much more.

Both my driver and passenger seats did one of the things mentioned in this thread. The edge of the upholstry pulled out from the seat backing around shoulder bolster height on both sides of both seats about 5 months into owning my car. I've since had them both replaced under warranty after someone from corporate came to the dealership where I bought the car.
Check this out though...
Driver & Passenger Recaros together:
Dealer: $5400ish
Customer: $7200ish

Unless the dealership had somehow jacked up the price in the computer (I'm not sure how/where dealerships obtain their pricing for OEM items, whether straight from corporate or some other means) I don't know why anyone would ever buy replacement seats outside of warranty. I just about had a haeart attack.

I took it to the dealer... I have to make an appointment so they can take a look at it. They told me they need it for the morning!? WTF? He said they have to put it though a process to determine the problem. He said basically in order to correct this they have to take a look at it. Does this sound right?
Somewhat, yes. I showed my dealer and then within a couple weeks they had they're local HQ guy come out and take a look at which point he took some pictures. He then went back to his platform engineer in CA and they talked to the platform engineers in Japan and they made a decision as to whether or not the problem was fixable or not. In my case they determined that there was no solution to the problem other than replacing the seats.
