Matte black wheel owners chime in....

So I'm having my Advan RS wheels refinished soon and was considering matte black. One of my concerns is keeping them clean and the durability of the finish. Are these more susceptible to brake dust because of the lack of a clear coat? Also when dressing the tires I imagine you have to be careful not to get any on the rim? What are people experiences? I'm debating between the stock Dark Gunmetal, Matte, or Gloss black. Any feedback would be great!

Ask for for a satin black finish ( just about the same as matte). Washes easy.

They wash up okay, but they also get dirty pretty easily, brake dust especially.

Are you saying the dust is more noticeable? Does it come off as easily as a wheel with clear coat?

I guess its about the same. Although, a wheel with clear coat will be easier to wash.

Think this would work for wheels, applied after the powdercoating?

Go with Satin Black. It has a very little amount of gloss and it's easier to clean than matte. Matte Black looks cheap IMO.

The Brembos are powder coated.....

I got the decals from Touge Factory. A high pressure hose cleans my wheels without me touching them, and i'm running Ferodos 2500's. (sp?)

Ahh yes, the satin black is more of what I'm going for. Those of you running them, are they custom? Did you have them powder coated or painted?
