Looks great. Can you post with the right side text when you are done with the graphics for poeple to use as a desktop or screen saver?

I'm just lazy or I would have started something similar.... Nice to see you have a little more energy than me.

That's pretty good dude. Are you tracing an existing image with the pen tool or is it from scratch?
Like Cajun said, I'm sure many of us with design degrees have thought of similar projects...I know I have. The only problem is...art majors are slackers
Not to speak for all of us, but I am at least, especially when you don't get to use your talent any more than I do (never).
Keep us posted, I'm interested to see how it turns out. What will you be doing with it when you are finished?

For the record, I never waste my time reponding to topics like this... but DAMN that looks AWESOME!
If I had the talent Id do it as well... or maybe I wouldn't, 'cause, well, i AM lazy...
Reguardless, keep up the good work... we need at least ONE non-lazy bastard.

not bad. was it personally hand done or did you use the auto trace tool..i don't like the white space ont he right or the textual design. it doesn't fit correctly with the picture. probably since the image used is so great. the text doesn't support it...

This is actually my first attempt at using Illustrator. I used my own superb memory from my many car washes to draw my car out digitally. No, I used photo that I took and edited in Photoshop, hand traced over the image using the Pen tool, using my judgment of simplifying color shapes. I didn't know there was an auto trace tool. I'm not an advocate of auto tools though, cuz they don't seem to get things done the way I want. What am I going to do with it? I'm gonna turn it into my class, heh. We're supposed to make a vectorized movie poster of any subject. Half my class immediately logged onto movieposters.com and copied their posters
. Hopefully I'll have this done by late tonight.
Oh yea, for you graphic artists, go ahead and critique my work, I'm always open for improvement to stay ahead of my class. I couldn't think of a better way to put a title on there. Some of the other titles I designed came out too cheesy, so I just kept it simple. I thought the white lines added to the perspective feel of the composition.
Here's the original photo I used. That's me in the reflection taking the pic:
