Satellite Radio Tuner
to set the record straight, sirius DOES have commercials on some of their channels, and xm limits what commercials it does have on SOME (not all) of their channels to 3 min/hr.
looking also from the financial side, xm has stronger partners (sony, pioneer, alpine) and is cheaper.
do some more research on the services before you decide, and if you're worried about the tuner module, wait for alpine's new units... they have the tuner built into the HU.

I do agree that XM has stronger partners.

I have been wondering when they are going to come up with this idea. I hope they do something about the antenna...maybe make it smaller or maybe wireless.

My install guy (also Evo owner) installed my anntenna under the plastic cowl that houses the front windshield wipers on the passengers side.
Its great todaly hidden plus I drove 300 miles across Colorado the only drop out was during the tunnels
I'll try and post pictures soon

I love my alpine and everything is built in. the small antenna required is only like 5 inches long and easily mounted above my rear view mirror inside. XM is great. alpine rocks.
Man I'm late on this! My Installer fit the tuner between the rear bulkhead and the rear seat on the passanger side and the antenna at the forward edge of the trunk about 6" behind the wiper pivot(the Carbon wing is radio transparent) Nice stealthy location.... and hard to steal. Got a kenwood head unit PnP so don't need the FM modulator
Finally got it installed in my car in the lower din where I wanted it:

I got XM before Sirius was released. Had it in my old Eclipse and put it in my EVO. My satellite tuner is behind the rear passenger seat. Basically in the trunk behind the panel so its totally invisible. I have the newer magnetic 3x3" XM antenna, its only about 3/4" tall mounted right on the forward edge of the trunk. Nice and small. Usually if I'm worried about vandalism I pull the antenna off and stuff it in the trunk.
Update:
I finally decided on a head unit and will be purchasing it later today. I got a killer hook up from a friend of mine(only paying 46% of the MSRP
) I also decided to go with Sirius and will be purchasing the hardware for that as well...at a discounted rate of course.
