i love the gunmetal on silver.

i wanted to go with black but i think it matches to closely to the tires and totally washes out the wheels... i like silver and gunmetal as wheels because it pops out more than darker colored wheels.

My car. Not the best, but at least it'll give you an idea:

I have a rolling shot, but I don't think that will do much.

black wheels are waste of money. You can't see them even when the car is standing still... they just don't stand out and hide alot of the nice features of a wheel especially on a multispoke wheel like the CE28ns. I would get the lip polished at least if you must have a black wheel.

Gunmetal, silver, or white looks good on Silver cars.

Formula silver looks best on CE28ns. I used to have a set. If you can find a set get them!

I kinda wished I kepted them but the offset on them was pretty low and I did not want to upgrade to coils nor run anymore camber as it was still sitting a bit high on Swifts and at -1.9 F and -1.4 R..... so I sold them and now have a set of RE30s in Chrome Silver on the way. Similar finish but not as gunmettally on the spokes and the lip is not as polished. I ordered them in a bit more conservative 18x9.5 +22.

Those CEs above are 18x9.5 +15.

The color was specific to 2008 and it was called Formula Silver with Polished Lip. From afar the spokes look darker than the lip. Up close they look shiny. Strange but awesome. If you gonna spend money on Volks... at least get a nice shiny or light color finish. Black just looks cheap.... but that is my opinion.

Your best bet is to buy them off a member. Now Volk still makes Mercury Silver which you can special order on CE28Ns. It looks alot like Formula Silver. A few people ordered them in the forum. SOrry for the rant... I am just a big wheel *****. One thing for sure. I am done after the RE30s.... 3 sets of Volks, 2 Sets of Advans... and 1 set of RPF1s in SBC... ***t gets expensive real fast LOL
