Painting my evo 8

Well im painting my 03 evo 8 this weekend from tarmac black to wicked white. Its murdered out which im bored with. Im doing it myself and i want to do something different. My evo is by no means a show car and is my winter beater. I was thinking about painting my mirrors and roof black. Im not really sure how the roof would look black what do you guys think?

So this is what my car looks like. I will be keeping the carbon ducts and generators. Mitsu emblem on the front will be black, hood vent is black, intercooler is black and i will be getting my windows tinted. Im also painting the gram lights black. I really like the white with black theme. We are also going to smoke out my tails alittle.

They did this in 95 with the Eagle Talon. White car with a black roof. Looks like a cop car.

Wicked white is probs my favorite color. Are you doing it right and painting the bay and inside of doors etc or just the exterior of car?

isn't your roof already black?

i'd leave the roof black (between the rubber strips) and paint the rest white. good luck, post pics.

I truly hope you know what grit sandpaper to use, have a proper paint gun and compressor and know how to actually mix the paint the right way. No offense, but as someone who has had formal training and time as an apprentice painter and auto body repairman I have seen terrible things come in to the shop, only for me to have to fix other peoples mistakes. Do it right the first time, and if you need any advice let me know I'm more than happy to help. Good luck with the project.

Thanks for all the info. Yeah my buddy paints cars for a living he is going to help me, and keep me on the right path. I had the paint mixed at sanels so i would imagine its correct. Engine bay is staying black and jambs for now. I only have a few days to do this so down the road I will do the jambs. My wife owns a paving company with a paint booth so i always have access to it. Yeah the roof is already black but my paint is so bad i would have to repaint that good old evo paint + clear.

good luck mate, just use a good clear to prevent peeling in the future and spray couple of coats of clean, then you can wet sand it and buff it to correct if any mistakes were done

Thanks guys it will take alot of work, but should be worth it in the end. Product wise i went with all really good materials cost alot more, but the evo is worth it.
