19's on an evo?
Why is the Evo the wrong car to buy for looks? The Evo is one of the best looking cars out there from the factory. No need to add on any dramatic bodykits or big wings or fancy wheels, they are already on there! The only other car that could match it in that respect would be the STi. I bought my Evo for performance and looks. Not to mention reputation and aftermarket support and the fact that it is a sedan. A factory street racer!

ummm.....I think the Evo looks sweet, it came with a body kit, but its a stock car....and rims will improve upon that, heck even lowering it improved on the looks of it, I can have my cake and eat it too....... Looks&Performance
hurting performance
All you guys who are saying 19's will hurt performance think before you speak. Why will 19s hurt performance? Last time I checked but most decent aftermarket wheels are lighter than the stockers, even in 19 inch configurations. Who is to say if the car is for looks or not? I personally agree and think its all about performance but, different strokes for different strokes.

Have you ever seen anyone at the autox using 19s? the answer is NO either.
Its not just about weight. Rotating inertia will have to be considered as well
Ideally, 17s is performance, 18s for street, 19s for SHOW!
Inertia
Well you say rotating inertia has to be considered as well. Being that you seem to come of as being rather smart, or its just a facade im not sure. But the formula for rotation ineriat is Beta *Mass*Radius^2. You will notice that you are correct and the radius does have an effect on the amount of inertia contained in the wheel. But you will also notice that there is the Beta term, which is the objects distribution of mass along its radius. The the term is always between zero and one, with the number approaching closer to one as the weight becomes more and more concentrated at the radius.
Yes I have seen people drag with 19s, and yes I have seen them autocross with 19s. Do me a favor and find somebody with two evos. Im actually a perfect candidate for this but I personally dont like 19's. Then slap a set of 19's on with 35 profile tires to keep close to the same total diameter and circumfrence. Then run them in any way you want, if they are using the same tire and the 19 is lighter such as a Volk CE28, or LE37, I guarantee you it will be faster than the stocker, with 24lb wheels.
