Evo IX Build with Wiring madness!
Well I have some updates...but not directly car related.....yet.
As everyone knows if they've read this thread, I travel around the country working on pipelines. In the past I've typically worked for 9 or 10 months then have a month or two off which was when I started this project and had every intention on finishing. Well, due to our tremedous work load which is forever getting larger, we have started working year around. This is awesome because it is a whole lot of $$$$$$... but the down side is I have not been home long enough yet to finish this marathon project up. I've been waiting and waiting to get the ok to go home for awhile... but it does not look like that will be happening any time soon.
So I decided to buy a 8.5'x24' enclosed car trailer! Just picked it up last week and I'm in the process of finishing/customizing the inside here at my jobsite in PA. I will have this done in about 10-14 days as I'm working on it a little every night, and of course whenever I have a free few minutes durring the day
. Then once that is complete... road trip time back to MA to pick up the car and bring it back to PA to work on and get finished!! Woohoo!
So I guess I'll post up some pics of the trailer??? lol I atleast will get that project finished and have some before and after pics for once.

AMAZING Job love the trunk mounted fuse boxes. all i did was relocated the battery but wish i had the focus to accompish something like that. and bravo to you sir for thinking outside the box and picking up a trailor! Sub'd can't wait to see this thing complete!
Wow, extreme props bro.
I did the same thing to my MR2.. took a month to plan and re-route wiring! I planned it so the only thing you see is the motor in the middle and hardly see the harness routed below the rear of the car.
The only difference is that you got the quick disconnect harnesses ( not to mention yours is a little neater. What I ended up doing is since the engine bay was right next to my trunk, I just extended the wires thru the firewall.
Smart idea to get a second harness as a back up... I am putting my MR2 back to stock and ists such a PITA to find a decent uncut used one cheap.
I thought about doing this before but my evo is a daily driver. Cant afford down time. When I do, this will be a must.
Just a few questions though. ( this thread was too long for me to search at work lol)
Can you get me details (part numbers, where you purchased it, and approx price) on the following:
1. wire gauges used, and if possible, the length used total
2. quick connectors. ( they are awesome BTW)
3. Those fancy harness covers... that's the best part lol
and my last question is ...................dum da da dum!
How did this all run afterwards? because from my knowledge, the wiring is in each car is based on certain lengths. The longer the wire, the more resistance it has to voltage. I mean, it might even be just a tiny vbit of voltage loss across but thats enough to mess with the ECU. And based on that theory, the ECU is programmed to view certain voltages and certain points (obviously hahaha). So in reference to that, has your car run any differently? Maybe a tune can fix all of that. IDK
Sorry for talking all technical... Im in work mode lol...hope u can understand what im talking about lol

I am relocating my fusebox to the trunk as well. I already have the acd pump in the trunk. I was reading a thread where the poster said not to extend the fusebox wiring as they are shielded. Are there any wires for the fusebox that actually are shielded? Looking at the pics from OP, looks like regular wiring and no mention during this thread of shielded wiring
I just want to make sure before I go and cut up my harness. TIA
