I think a lot of people nailed it in that most people that buy Evos care about performance. Most of the people here talk about tech. Lots of VW people are into the "lifestyle stuff". When you have guys that mod the cars for performance and seeing stretched tires like that, they get ticked because it destroys the handling potential the car offers.
With GTIs, Jettas, and several Hondas, the performance envelope is nonexistant, so the lifestyle crew goes there.
To me, the Evo is not a fad car. It's not a super performance car, but it is a performance car nonetheless. I think we would all react the same way to an Elise, Corvette, or CTS-V (more performance based cars) with stretched tires. At the end of the day, it's your car, and if you want to hammer a square into a circle hole, it's totally your right.

Whoa now...the CT9's are just as much a performance car as a CTS-V if not more so. Likewise, with basic performance mods the Evo is just as much a performance car as the Vette and Elise with the same.

Doesn't the Emo crowd thrive on the attention of being different and disliked? That being said, this Evo is definitely Emo. The guy who owns this car is probably feeling more and more proud after each and every flaming comment!
It's the elitist in me that got pissed off about the Crimson Ghost sticker. I knew the owner was a tight pants wearing wanna be that's too young to remember the glory days of the Misfits and probably bought their CD from Hot Topic.
I honestly don't mind the herrafrush look on an Evo.....if its done right.
This car is not done right and I 100% guarantee this car rubs everywhere he goes..this car is ghetto and fail..owner should go back to driving a vdub....

Evo hoods are aluminum... good luck getting that to rust.
Gonna have to get a lancer hood, cut a hole in it and zip tie an evo hood vent in.
Also u should bag your car. If ur goin this direction and u got the funds might as well go all the way. Make a boser rep hood extension, get a roof rack, purple leather seats, crazy headliner, uk bumper with the fog light, save the bay... he list could go on and on
