The stock turbo won't do 22lbs at redline... From what I understand...

I think it's 19.5lbs at like 3500 or 4000 or something like that, then it trails off to like 15lbs IIRC...

Vishnu makes an interesting kit. I haven't seen it in person, but the pictures on their website look pretty intersting. The gauges are slightly larger in diameter, and should be easier to read. They are all in American (we are the only country that uses PSI and degrees F) units as well...

Anywho... The picture that I'm referring to is at http://www.vishnutuning.com/images/evo/guages.jpg.

I think that's the Omori kit. I have the DIN panel that's angeled like that from Omori, and those guages look like Omori too.

the stock turbo WILL do 22psi to redline cause i do it.
and 1.5 kg/cm*2 = 21.335 psi

the guage is NOT bar..

Sports Meter Kit

It's worthwhile having the Sports Meter Kit, however I would recommend that it be located in the CD/Radio slot rather than the lower bin. Gauge back-lighting doesn't match the instruments, nor do they dim(this one is a dealer installation). Oil temp is a good reference in conjunction with the coolant temp. Reliable so far, after nearly a year. The Boost/vacuum gauge should be sufficient for stock Evo's, as Max boost registers only 1.37 kg/cm*cm. Must admit that I am generally not looking at the gauge when the needle is at that position....

Conversion: 1 psi = 0.07030696 kg/cm*cm

FYI: 1 Bar = 1.019716 kg/cm*cm

I have the factory kit. It is nice, but WAY to hard to see the boost gauge while driving. It really needs to be on the steering wheel or at least on the A Pillar. I am currently looking into replacements or additions to the factory gauges. I am currently looking at Defi, OMORI, Autometer Cobalt, and Blitz BLM. I am having a hard time deciding.

why?? does it not contain the "magic fairy dust" the other ones have? jesus, its not like its a complicated piece of equipment, its got a little counterweight to measure pressure.

The only reason I din't get that because it only reads up to 1.5bar.
Who knows what you will be doing in the future?

I have a few question for those who has the Factory Sport Meter kit....

What is the color of the light on the SMK when it lights up ?

How you hook up the Oil Pressure? Is there a wire/ sender inside the car?

What is the lowest price you guys found on this kit?

Thanks for your help

Is there a sport meter / gauge kit that has an illuminated background, like which has got a neon glow to it perhaps?

THanks.

1. the light is a typical yellowish guage lbulb light.
2. its not oil pressure, its oil TEMP. and it is in a replacement oil pan plug. it replaces the stock one with this one with a wired sensor embedded in it.
3. best price i found was FREE.. (i got it with my car) so im not a good judge for price. i do know you need 2 pieces, the kit and the changer dash kit.
